The composition was developed for a current generation of buyers who want the formal language of older Persian and Turkish carpets without the historical density. The studio reduced the pattern, adjusted the palette, and tuned the scale to read in a contemporary room.
A floral lineage carried in a green palette: medallion, scrolling vine, framed border, the same architecture that defines the older Persian and Mughal carpets. The colour reads with the saturation that engineered fibres hold under both daylight and tungsten. The drawing was adapted from older formal sources but redrawn for the loom this rug was made on, with the corner spandrels and the central rosette resized so the composition holds at this rectangle.
The fibre
The yarn is heat-set polypropylene, an engineered fibre with the colour locked in by temperature rather than printed on. Stains resist setting because the fibre is non-porous. Direct sun does not bleach the colour the way it slowly bleaches wool. The pile does not shed.
The composition
The green reading is calm under all light conditions. Walls in clay, off-white, or warm grey hold the colour. The geometry resolves at room scale and rewards closer viewing without insisting on it. The pile sits low enough that doors and chair legs glide across the surface without catching.
The piece in a room
5' x 8' (152 x 244 cm). At 5' x 8' or 6' x 9' the rug anchors a seating area of two facing sofas, a king bed with the front two feet of the frame on the rug, or a dining table for four to six. The green reading carries cleanly under both warm tungsten and cool LED. Pet hair and crumbs lift easily under a routine vacuum.
Care
Vacuum weekly with the beater bar engaged or disengaged, the fibre tolerates either. Spot clean with mild detergent on a clean cotton cloth. Machine wash on a cold cycle if a spill does not lift; the size folds to fit a domestic drum. Dries flat in two hours. No professional cleaning required, no rotating-brush damage to worry about, no shedding into the room air.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Each carpet is hand-crafted with natural-dye yarns, so a small variation in shade, pattern density, and tone is expected and is part of the authenticity of a handmade piece. Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
