The ivory palette here was developed alongside a geometric drawing, both refined together rather than pulled from separate libraries. The result reads as one composition rather than as a pattern dropped onto a colour. The discipline of designing colour and figure together is what separates a serious studio rug from an off-the-rack production.
The geometric drawing here moves through several sources before it settles. The studio looked to historical Anatolian and Persian carpets for proportion, to mid-century Scandinavian textile design for restraint, and to contemporary architectural practice for the relationship between figure and ground. The result is a ivory composition that holds in a contemporary interior without losing the feel of a textile with roots.
The fibre
Polypropylene yarn, heat-stabilised. The colour is part of the yarn rather than printed on top of it, so the rug holds saturation against sunlight that fades pigment rugs in a single summer. The surface is hydrophobic enough that wine and coffee lift before they set, and the pile is dense enough to resist crushing under furniture legs that would mark a wool surface.
The composition
A ivory composition with geometric structure. The drawing carries the eye across the field rather than landing in one place; the pattern logic is asymmetric rather than centred, which is what gives the surface a sense of movement without losing its overall calm.
The piece in a room
At 5' x 7' (152 x 213 cm), the rug fits a flat-scale living room or a generous bedroom. Ivory pairs comfortably with most upholstery palettes, and the polypropylene pile takes daily traffic without showing it. Mid-tone walls hold the saturation; lighter walls let the rug recede into the room.
Care
Weekly vacuum. Damp-cloth on any spill. The pile takes a cold hand or machine wash without losing colour. Dries flat in a couple of hours. No specialist care needed; the construction is designed to handle daily use in a household with pets, children, and direct light.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Each carpet is hand-crafted with natural-dye yarns, so a small variation in shade, pattern density, and tone is expected and is part of the authenticity of a handmade piece. Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
