Some compositions reward production at scale rather than at hand-knot density. The floral idiom is one of them. The pattern depends on consistency across a large field and on saturated colour that does not drift between corners. The Jacquard loom in Turkey on which this rug was made delivers exactly that consistency, which is why the design ended up in heat-set production rather than on a hand loom.
Sampling and revision ran for several weeks before the cartoon was approved. Production is in Turkey, on a Jacquard system that resolves colour and position at the level of a single point. The grey palette was selected for longevity under indoor light, with the dominant tones tuned to remain stable for at least a decade of normal use.
The fibre
Polypropylene heat-set to lock colour at the molecular level. The yarn does not absorb spills the way wool does, which means stains lift cleanly with a damp cloth and the pile resists fading from sunlight or repeated cleaning. The piece is built for high-traffic areas where wool would degrade.
The composition
The drawing is floral in vocabulary and grey in register, with subtle tonal modulation across the field that prevents the pattern from reading as flat repetition. The composition holds at distance and reveals on approach. The piece works under furniture and in open passage equally; the pile is engineered for both compression and traffic without losing its surface finish.
The piece in a room
At the size as listed, the rug works as a colour anchor in any room sized to the dimensions of the piece. The grey field reads first; the floral drawing reveals on close approach.
Care
Vacuum on standard setting once a week. Address spills with a damp cloth; the fibre will not absorb the spill the way a natural pile does, which means cleanup is a one-pass operation rather than a multi-stage one. Cool machine-wash is acceptable for the smaller formats. Dries flat in a couple of hours. The piece is built for high-traffic rooms where a wool carpet would compress and dull within a few seasons.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
