Rugsville Gracelynn Traditional Floral Gray Persian Carpet 5'3" x 7'8"

The pattern in this rug came out of contemporary studios working in conversation with mid-century European geometry and Anatolian flatweave traditions. The composition was developed in graphite and ink over several months before being approved for production. The brief was a floor that anchors a room without becoming the loudest element in it, a brief that sounds simple and almost never resolves on the first attempt.

The studio worked the design through several iterations of sample weaving before the production run was committed. The composition resolves at the scale of a room rather than at the scale of a swatch, and the grey register holds against the pattern without being overtaken by it. Production runs are tightly controlled so the colour reading from one batch matches the previous one to a perceptible degree.

The fibre

Heat-set polypropylene. The yarn is engineered so the colour is locked in by temperature rather than by surface pigment, which is why the saturation does not fade under sunlight the way printed colour fades. The fibre is stain-resistant at the molecular level: wine, juice, oil, and coffee lift with a damp cloth before they set. The pile stays flat under furniture and does not shed.

The composition

The grey register carries the composition. Lighter and deeper accents articulate the floral drawing and break the field into zones that read as one work rather than as a repeating tile. The pattern was developed to give a room a considered ground without claiming ownership of it. Pairs with walnut, brass, leather, linen, raw oak, and warm wood floors and reads against bone, off-white, and mid-tone walls equally.

The piece in a room

At the size as listed, the rug works as a colour anchor in any room sized to the dimensions of the piece. The grey field reads first; the floral drawing reveals on close approach.

Care

Vacuum weekly on the standard setting; the heat-set fibre tolerates a beater bar without losing pile density. Spot-clean with mild detergent on a clean cloth. Machine-wash on a cool 30°C cycle if a spill resists spot cleaning; the size folds to fit a domestic drum. Dries flat in two hours. No professional cleaning required across the rug's life.
