The cartoon was developed inside a contemporary design studio over several months of paper sketches, colour swatches, and full-scale digital proofs before being released to the loom. The jacquard mechanism reads the colour code one warp at a time and selects the right yarn for that point in the field. The result is a pattern register cleaner than what most hand techniques can hold over a piece of this scale.

The fibre

Heat-set polypropylene yarn. The colour is locked into the fibre by temperature rather than printed on the surface, which is why saturation does not fade under direct sunlight the way pigment-printed cloth fades. The yarn resists staining at the molecular level, so spilled wine, juice, or coffee lift with a damp cloth before they have a chance to set. The pile stays flat under furniture and does not shed across the life of the rug.
