Faded coral, soft indigo, and ivory in proportions a nineteenth-century Persian carpet would recognise. The medallion holds the field, the corner-pieces echo it, and the border carries the floral guard bands the form requires. The studio worked the pattern in graphite for several months before approving it for production.

Production runs through a wide-format jacquard loom that reads the cartoon at full carpet scale and selects between the dyed yarns one column at a time. The motif register holds true to the studio drawing across every metre of the field, which is the structural advantage of the technique at this price point.

The fibre

Polypropylene yarn engineered for stable colour and high abrasion resistance. The dye sits inside the molecule rather than on the surface, which means cleaning the rug does not lighten it. The pile recovers from furniture marks within hours of moving the piece, and a damp cloth is enough for almost every spill that household life produces.

The composition

The medallion sits inside a field of vine and palmette work that reads, at distance, as a single dense ground and, at close range, as a botanical garden. The border carries three guard bands, with the middle band doing the structural work. The dominant tones read as ivory.

Care
