Built in ivory, drawn around a Persian structure. The pattern was tuned in studio for several seasons before it reached production, with the boundaries pulled in and the saturation calibrated for the way contemporary rooms are lit. The result is a rug that holds against both daylight and lamp light without losing its character in either, which is the test that separates a serious studio composition from a pattern repeated to fill a catalogue.
The composition belongs to a generation of Persian drawings that reset the conversation about what a contemporary rug should do. Quiet rather than loud, calibrated rather than decorative, designed to sit underneath a room rather than to compete with everything in it. The ivory palette holds the line.
The fibre
Solution-dyed polypropylene. The colour is fixed during spinning, which makes the yarn nearly bleach-resistant and water-shedding at the surface. The pile holds a flat plane under furniture and does not shed loose fibre, which is the practical advantage of a synthetic surface engineered specifically for floor use.
The composition
The ivory field reads quietly. The Persian pattern works at sofa distance. The rug is built to anchor a room rather than dominate it, with the saturation calibrated to settle into a contemporary interior rather than to announce itself the moment you walk in.
The piece in a room
Sized at 5' x 8' (152 x 244 cm), the rug works under a sofa cluster, a dining table for four to six, or as a bedroom anchor. The pile is graded for traffic and the fibre for spills. Mid-tone walls hold the saturation; lighter walls let the rug recede into the room.
Care
Weekly vacuum. Damp-cloth on any spill. The pile takes a cold hand or machine wash without losing colour. Dries flat in a couple of hours. No specialist care needed; the construction is designed to handle daily use in a household with pets, children, and direct light.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Each carpet is hand-crafted with natural-dye yarns, so a small variation in shade, pattern density, and tone is expected and is part of the authenticity of a handmade piece. Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
