This carpet works a Persian-inflected design through the more democratic vocabulary of hand-tufting. The pattern carries the medallion-and-field architecture that governed the workshops of Tabriz and Kashan, scaled and softened for a contemporary room. A piled descendant of a long lineage, made at a price the original tradition has never been available at.
2 tufters and 1 finisher worked the rug on a stretched cotton canvas in India over six weeks. Wool was tufted in by hand-held gun row by row, then sealed with natural latex and a cotton scrim backing. A final hand-shearing pass evens the pile and brings the navy field into relief above the border.
The composition
The composition holds a navy field at the centre and lets the supporting tones drift across the body of the rug rather than confining them to a border. The rug is composed as a single surface, not a tile to be repeated. The wool pile gives the colour a slight optical depth that flat-printed alternatives cannot reach. The pattern is paced so that the field reads from across the room and the detail rewards walking closer.
The piece in a room
At 8' x 10' (8' x 10' (244 x 305 cm)), the rug expects a full sectional sofa above it or an eight-seater dining table with the chairs pulled all the way out and still on the rug. The navy composition gives the room a single defined ground rather than fragmenting the floor into zones.
Care
Use a vacuum on suction only. Blot spills, do not rub. Light shedding is normal for the first month and a half as the loose surface fibres work themselves out; the body of the pile is unaffected. A professional dry-clean every two to three years keeps the latex backing supple and the pile colour true. A pad underneath the rug protects both the latex and the floor below.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Each carpet is hand-crafted with natural-dye yarns, so a small variation in shade, pattern density, and tone is expected and is part of the authenticity of a handmade piece. Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
