A Persian composition reads at room scale rather than collapsing into pattern noise. The studio drew the field around a clear figure-and-ground relationship and then adjusted the colour values for evening light as much as daylight. The result is a drawing that holds its own under both natural and artificial light without shifting in mood.
Colour was held to a blue register; the studio worked the proofs in painted gouache before approving the file for the loom. The drawing was sized for room-scale viewing rather than catalogue close-up, and the relationship between the figure and the ground was tuned to read at conversational distance.
The composition
Pattern density is even across the field. The blue palette holds at distance and reveals tonal nuance on approach. The rug suits a room that is otherwise quiet in pattern; busy upholstery will fight it. Pair with solid-colour sofas, plain curtains, and a single graphic element on the wall to give the composition a clean read.
The fibre
The pile is heat-set polypropylene, with the colour bonded into the strand at the extrusion stage. The rug holds saturation under sunlight, blocks staining at the fibre level, and recovers from compression. There is no pile shedding across the lifetime of the rug.
Why this rug
The drawing was specified by a studio that designs across both wool and synthetic categories. The transfer to a heat-set fibre keeps the design intent intact while opening the price band; the blue composition reads with the same authority it would carry in a knotted edition, at a fraction of the weaver-months and a fraction of the price.
The piece in a room
6' x 9' (183 × 274 cm) is a working scale for living rooms in flats, dining areas with a six-seater table, primary bedrooms, and high-traffic corridors where a wool rug would not survive. The geometry holds at distance and resolves on approach. The pile recovers from indentation overnight, so heavy furniture rotation does not leave permanent marks.
Care
Weekly vacuuming keeps the pile upright. Spot clean with cool water and mild detergent. For a stubborn stain the rug folds into a domestic drum on a 30 °C cycle. Lay flat to dry. The colour does not bleed in the wash; the heat-set process locks the dye into the fibre permanently.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Frequently asked
How long will shipping take?
Most metros (Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata) receive their order in 3-5 business days. Tier-2 cities take 5-7 business days, and remote pin codes (J&K, North-East, Andamans) take 7-10 business days. Use the pin-code checker above for a concrete delivery date.
Will the colour exactly match the photo?
Each carpet is hand-crafted with natural-dye yarns, so a small variation in shade, pattern density, and tone is expected and is part of the authenticity of a handmade piece. Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
