A floral arrangement carried by ivory, with the field drawn so the densities open and tighten across the surface to keep the eye moving rather than landing in one place. The composition was developed in a contemporary studio that draws on both traditional medallion work and mid-century European geometry. The intention was a piece that could anchor a sitting room or a primary bedroom without becoming the only thing in the room.
The rug is woven in Turkey on a high-density Jacquard loom. The yarn was engineered for the foot traffic of a working household and the cleaning cycles that come with it. The drawing is the same a higher-priced wool piece would carry, translated into a fibre that takes a much rougher life without showing it.
The fibre
Heat-set polypropylene. The colour is fixed by temperature rather than surface dye, which is why saturation does not fade under direct sunlight the way pigment-printed fibre fades. The yarn resists staining at the molecular level. Wine, coffee, juice, and oil lift with a damp cloth before they set. The pile holds shape under furniture and does not shed.
The composition
A single saturated ivory ground carries the floral arrangement through subtle changes of tone. The composition relies on geometry rather than on colour contrast to organise the eye. The piece pairs well with walnut, oak, brass, and linen and resists the strongly patterned upholstery that would compete with it.
The piece in a room
At 5' x 8' (152 x 244 cm) the rug centres a coffee table with a two-seater floating above, holds a study reading corner, or sits in a guest bedroom. The fibre tolerates direct sun, foot traffic, and pet wear in a way wool will not. The geometry holds in both modern and traditional rooms depending on the furniture around it.
Care
Vacuum weekly. Spot clean with mild detergent on a clean cloth. The rug can be machine washed on a cold thirty-degree cycle if a spill resists spot cleaning, and most sizes fold to fit a domestic drum. Dries flat in two to three hours. No professional cleaning required.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
