An asymmetric composition in grey, built so the eye moves across the surface rather than landing in any single place. The studio worked the design across several rounds of revision before approving it for production. The drawing favours measured restraint over decorative incident, and the result is a rug that reads as a single field rather than as a tiled repeat.
The looms in Turkey that produced this piece run a fine gauge of jacquard at high precision, and the construction allows for densities and colour separations that approach the visual register of a hand-tufted carpet at a fraction of the wait and the cost.
The composition
The palette holds grey, separated by lighter channels of negative space. The composition rewards a long viewing distance and reveals on approach. Pairs poorly with strongly patterned upholstery; the rug expects to be the only graphic element in the room. The pattern was drawn at scale on paper before the looms were set, and the proportions were tuned for floors of three to five metres in any direction.
The fibre
Heat-set polypropylene. The colour is locked in by temperature rather than by surface dye, so saturation does not fade under direct sunlight the way pigment printing fades. The fibre resists staining at the molecular level: spilled wine, juice, oil, or coffee lift with a damp cloth before they set. The pile stays flat under furniture and does not shed.
The piece in a room
5'3" x 7'8" (160 × 234 cm) anchors a primary bedroom, a small living room, or a dining set for four to six. The size carries a sofa, two side chairs, and a coffee table comfortably with the rug visible at the perimeter of the furniture. Pairs cleanly with walnut, oak, brushed brass and unbleached linen. The rug answers a quieter room with restraint and absorbs more decorated furniture without surrendering the floor to it.
Care
Run a vacuum across the surface weekly. Lift stains with cool water and a mild detergent; the fibre resists staining at the molecular level and will release most spills before they set. Suitable for households with children and pets without special handling. Rotate end to end every six months for even wear under foot and furniture.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Each carpet is hand-crafted with natural-dye yarns, so a small variation in shade, pattern density, and tone is expected and is part of the authenticity of a handmade piece. Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
