A grey composition with the proportions set so the eye moves across the surface. The composition was developed in a small Turkish design studio over several months, sketched first on paper, then refined in colour, then handed to the looms. The intention was a rug that holds a room without taking it over, and that costs less than a wool tier of comparable scale without giving up the visual ambition.
Production runs in this register stay deliberately small. The studio prefers to release a design across a measured number of sizes and retire it cleanly rather than keep it in catalogue indefinitely, which keeps the visual language fresh from one season to the next.
The composition
Grey carries the field. The asymmetry of the drawing means there is no single focal point; the eye crosses the surface rather than landing in one place. The pattern gives a room a considered ground without claiming ownership of it. Pairs cleanly with walnut, brass, leather, linen, raw oak. The colour holds at distance and rewards a closer look without demanding it.
The fibre
The yarn is heat-set polypropylene engineered so that colour and fibre are bonded at the molecular level. The pile resists fading under sun, lifts stains cleanly, and keeps its loft under chair and table legs without crushing.
The piece in a room
5'3" x 7'9" (160 × 236 cm) anchors a primary bedroom, a small living room, or a dining set for four to six. The size carries a sofa, two side chairs, and a coffee table comfortably with the rug visible at the perimeter of the furniture. Pairs cleanly with walnut, oak, brushed brass and unbleached linen. The rug answers a quieter room with restraint and absorbs more decorated furniture without surrendering the floor to it.
Care
Vacuum weekly. Spot clean with cool water and a mild detergent. Heat-set fibre lifts most household spills with a damp cloth before they soak in. The pile keeps its loft under furniture and does not require a wool-grade cleaner. Sit the rug on a thin grip pad over hard floors to extend the working life of the foundation.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Each carpet is hand-crafted with natural-dye yarns, so a small variation in shade, pattern density, and tone is expected and is part of the authenticity of a handmade piece. Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
