A ivory field with a quiet asymmetry running across it. The result is a rug that holds at room scale and rewards a closer look without demanding it. The studio is small enough that the design lead and the production lead share the same room; the look of the piece is closer to a curated commission than to a production run.
Production runs in this register stay deliberately small. The studio prefers to release a design across a measured number of sizes and retire it cleanly rather than keep it in catalogue indefinitely, which keeps the visual language fresh from one season to the next.
The composition
The palette holds ivory, separated by lighter channels of negative space. The composition rewards a long viewing distance and reveals on approach. Pairs poorly with strongly patterned upholstery; the rug expects to be the only graphic element in the room. The pattern was drawn at scale on paper before the looms were set, and the proportions were tuned for floors of three to five metres in any direction.
The fibre
The yarn is heat-set polypropylene engineered so that colour and fibre are bonded at the molecular level. The pile resists fading under sun, lifts stains cleanly, and keeps its loft under chair and table legs without crushing.
The piece in a room
5'3" x 7'8" (160 × 234 cm) anchors a primary bedroom, a small living room, or a dining set for four to six. The size carries a sofa, two side chairs, and a coffee table comfortably with the rug visible at the perimeter of the furniture. Reads strongly against pale walls and tempers under a dark ceiling. Care
Vacuum weekly. Spot clean with cool water and a mild detergent. Heat-set fibre lifts most household spills with a damp cloth before they soak in. Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Each carpet is hand-crafted with natural-dye yarns, so a small variation in shade, pattern density, and tone is expected and is part of the authenticity of a handmade piece. Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
