A tufted carpet sits between the loom-knotted tradition and the printed rug. It carries the wool weight and the hand of a knotted piece, with a faster making time and a price that does not demand a wall safe. For households that want hand-finished wool work without the months of waiting that a knotted carpet asks for, this is the working option.
Hand-tufted in India. Seven weeks on the frame for two tufters, plus a finisher who shore the pile down to relieve the design. Cotton canvas backing, natural latex bond, cotton scrim sealed at the reverse. The construction sits a hair lighter than a knotted carpet of the same size, which is part of why a tufted rug travels and stores more easily.
The composition
The palette holds grey, with the over-dyed wool carrying a faint shift at certain angles the way a glaze sits over a pigment in oil paint. The geometry is open enough to live with patterned upholstery and graphic enough to carry a quieter room on its own. The pile is sheared at a single height across the field, so the eye reads the colour rather than the construction.
The piece in a room
9' x 12' (274 × 366 cm) is the canonical drawing-room scale. It expects a full sofa group above it, with side tables and chairs all landing on the field. The rug takes the role of organising the room rather than ornamenting it. Sits well under a low coffee table with metal legs and reads through the legs of a daybed. Care

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
