The pattern in this rug belongs to the long lineage of abstract drawings that move between Persian, Turkish, and contemporary studios. The colour register is settled and the pattern holds at room scale, with the field designed as one continuous composition rather than as a tile that happens to repeat across a larger surface.
What sits on the loom is the result of months of preparation. The multi palette was tested against actual furniture and walls before approval; the abstract drawing was scaled and re-scaled so the figure works at sofa distance and at door distance equally well. The production loom carries the design with the discipline that hand-knotting cannot match for repeatability and price.
The fibre
The fibre is heat-set polypropylene. Colour is set in the yarn at the spinning stage and runs the full length of the strand, not just on the surface, which is why sun does not bleach it. The yarn rejects water-borne staining; spills sit on the surface and lift with a cloth. The pile does not shed, and the rug requires no professional cleaning across its working life.
The composition
A multi composition with abstract structure. The drawing carries the eye across the field rather than landing in one place; the pattern logic is asymmetric rather than centred, which is what gives the surface a sense of movement without losing its overall calm.
The piece in a room
At 5'3" x 7'9" (160 x 236 cm), the rug fits a flat-scale living room or a generous bedroom. Multi pairs comfortably with most upholstery palettes, and the polypropylene pile takes daily traffic without showing it. Carries the room's palette on its own. Care
Care is minimal. Vacuum weekly. Wipe spills with a clean cloth as they happen. Cold machine wash if needed; the fibre is built for it and holds its colour through repeated washes. Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Each carpet is hand-crafted with natural-dye yarns, so a small variation in shade, pattern density, and tone is expected and is part of the authenticity of a handmade piece. Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
